Highs

Getting through this month as a whole to be honest. Getting all of my work done ahead of deadline was a massive high because I was worried I wouldn’t have made it at all. I now have my 2020 Calendars designed, finalised and boxes on boxes of stock sitting in my studio ready for launch. * Self Promo * You should probably order one here * Self Promo * I am so happy with how they turned out, I am now nervous and hoping others love it too. I posted one of my favourite blog posts I have done in a while about personal goals and the idea of success when you’re in your mid to late 20s. Got to have a really nice beach weekend away with my mum. She also joined me on Halloween when we gave candy out to children from our street which was a lot more fun than I was anticipating. Michael and I also celebrated our 8 years officially dating which is always lovely. I also started my next photo project with the working title of Midnight Garden. I haven’t completed it yet but so far I have a few images that I really love.

Lows (but not really)

It was a little bit of a stress filled month. Normally when I have a heavy personal work load, I am able to focus on that and really be quiet on the client work front but this month that just wasn’t going to happen. Christmas deadlines for Studio Jasmine really crept up on me and I had already booked in a bunch of fun client work. So I was definitely pushing my time and creativity this month. Since I was on deadline for both the 2020 Calendar design and new print artworks for Christmas there was the ups and downs of insecurity in the mix. I drove 1.5hrs on a Friday night to shoot in the dark with flash on and the camera’s flash broke 3 shots in. A few projects got delayed pushing them closer to the busiest time of the year. Went for a weekend away to the beach and it stormed half the time.

New & In Review

Thought it was about time I update you with recent purchases and reviews.
I bought Three Women by Lisa Taddeo to read this month. Since the book is split between stories I didn’t find myself binge reading it like I have other books. It is pretty interesting though and I would recommend it if you’re looking for something to read. Is it my favourite book of the year? No. (shop here)

I went through a whole jar of the Clinique Smart Duo this month and I noticed the a difference after using the Revolumize side in my night time routine. I would definitely recommend it (shop here)

I am definitely in the mood for summer at the moment so I have been prepping my beach set up with The Beach People. I now am the owner of one of their stunning new beach umbrellas which can confirm is a 12/10. You are guaranteed to make everyone at the beach jealous of you. (shop here)

I’ve had a couple of pieces lately that I bought, loved when I put them on, still in love with them but for some reason I haven’t worn or gravitated towards when getting dressed. One was a Matteau Sundress in beige which I am intending to sell. I can’t work out if it is the colour or something as small as the proportions of the tiered layers on me. I have a similar from Marle and I think the proportions on me are more flattering so I purchased it last week in the new white colour way. So the lesson is - don’t hoard clothes you aren’t getting enough wear out of, sell them and recoup some of the costs.

A little reminder…

Fucking congratulations. You have made it through most of 2019 already. Everything may have not gone to plan, those resolutions may have fallen by the wayside come Feb but you have got through it. Take a breath because we just have a couple more months of this year to get through and they are usually the toughest. Try enjoy the end of year festivities as much as you can. Treat yourself & be gentle.

With Love, Jasmine
